WhatsApp’s new Predictive Upload feature could just be the next big thing

WhatsApp has rolled out several new updates in the recent past and it shows no signs of slowing down. They pushed out the Group feature to make the instant messaging service a lot less complicated. Then there was the Chat Filter that was introduced for the benefit of WhatsApp Business users and finally, its most awaited update, the Group Video Calling feature that makes video conferences possible. Now, it has an even newer set of updates — including one that will forever change the way you use the platform — which aim to help users share photos on chat faster as well as improve direct money transfers on the app.
According to BloombergQuint, the Facebook-owned company will announce a peer-to-peer payment service for its 1.5 billion monthly active global users sometime next week. WABetaInfo, beta testers of WhatsApp, discovered another feature that is already available on the instant messaging service for some users. It is called the Predictive Upload.
True to its name, Predictive Upload helps predict when a particular image is going to be sent in a chat. This will ultimately help accelerate the process of sending pictures on WhatsApp. The new feature will permit the app to upload images to the server in advance so that it is prepared to send them instantly when your chat reaches a certain stage. The Predictive Upload feature is initially only being rolled out to a small set of users who have version 2.18.61 of the app on iOS, for testing purposes.
Meanwhile, another popular feature of the app, WhatsApp payments, is getting an upgrade. The IM company is pairing with banks like HDFC, ICICI, Axis, and SBI (which will join later), to help make direct peer-to-peer payments more efficient. WhatsApp users will be able to access the payments feature on their devices, once updated, by next week
