In his very first at-bat in Double-A, former Heisman winner Tim Tebow showed us all why he’s right not to give up on this whole baseball thing.
For the second consecutive year, Tebow opened up the season with a home run. This, time it came for the Mets’ minor league affiliate, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (great name, BTW).
Watch the homer right here.
Needless to say, an otherwise meaningless minor league game ended up catching the attention of those on Twitter. Some good. Some bad. But definitely entertaining.

Despite a career batting average in the .220 range, Tebow has an opportunity to be a cash cow for the Mets should the team decide to promote him.
Years after his football career ended, Tebow is out here playing professional baseball at a high level. And the popularity is surely there.
He comes in as the 14th most popular figure in the SNIPdaily New York Mets Top 40. Folks, he’s not on the New York Mets active roster. Let that sink in.
